PREDICTED POINTS

Fantasy Football Fix have used their algorithms to present us with their computer-predicted Top 10 Players for Gameweek 2.

I had my captaincy on Haaland and it looks like i’ll be keeping it on the Manchester City Forward!

LIVERPOOL V CRYSTAL PALACE

Another big conversation this week in the FPL world is if Haaland or Salah are the best captain choice. Both are playing at home against teams not known for being amazing on the defensive side of things (Manchester City v Bournemouth, Liverpool v Crystal Palace).

A handy reminder is the below summary from FPL GOAT regarding Liverpool v Crystal Palace over their last 5 meetings.

It certainly appears like Salah is also a great option if you don’t have Haaland in your team! I would still choose Haaland if you own both of them. Importantly the bookmakers agree, as you can read about in our Bookie’s Advantage article.

LATEST NEWS ON INJURIES

FPL is not only about choosing who is most likely to score a goal or keep a clean sheet in any given week, it also includes needing to be aware of who will run out on the pitch each weekend!

Ben Dinnery luckily is the resident ‘Injury Analyst’ for FPL managers and provides weekly updates on Who’s In and Who’s Out. We see below that Ben has reported that Ricardo Pereira will not be available for this weekend. Pereira has suffered an Achilles injury and is set to miss a large part of the season. The reason this is of note is that Timothy Castagne (Leicester Defender) is now likely to play every week at Right Wing Back for Leicester. Castagne scored a great header goal on the weekend and regularly pushes forward to get on the score sheet!

LEON BAILEY – KEEP OR SELL?

FPL Twitter regular BigManBakar has published his latest weekly analysis piece where he covers many of the questions managers will be asking themselves before they finalise their team for Gameweek 2.

Many managers started with Leon Bailey from Aston Villa in their lineup and were likely frustrated to see Bailey not get on the scoresheet but also the lacklustre performance from Aston Villa as a whole.

At £5.0m, Bailey still provides great value and some faith should be shown in him and Aston Villa as a team to bounce back against Everton this week in their first home match of the season. I will be keeping him in my starting lineup and you should too.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Didn’t get time to tune in to as many games as you would like over the weekend? Never Fear! Sam FPL has provided his expert watchlist of players you should keep an eye out for and potentially transfer into your lineup.
