Gameweek 4 run-down by Sam FPL
Sam FPL is well respected in the FPL community and is well known for his weekly tips write-ups (as below). They are concise and help FPL managers who have a busy lifestyle and need a quick run-down of what their plan should be for the upcoming gameweek.
I co-sign on all the below tips and believe they will hold you in good stead for the upcoming gameweeks.
Liverpool Defensive Woes
Liverpool have had one of the most robust defences over the last few seasons since Van Dijk joined the defensive line. However, Liverpool have looked shaky this year and have failed to keep a clean sheet so far, which is painful for any manager who owns their defenders!
BigManBakar has highlighted a damning stat regarding the big chances being conceded by Liverpool, and it suggests that it may be time to look elsewhere for your defensive line.
A big chance is a stat that measures goal-scoring opportunities where the likelihood to score is high.
Maddison Injury
FPL is not only about choosing who is most likely to score a goal or keep a clean sheet in any given week. It also includes needing to be aware of who will run out on the pitch each weekend!
Ben Dinnery, luckily is the resident ‘Injury Analyst’ for FPL managers and provides weekly updates on Who’s In and Who’s Out. We see below that Ben has reported that Leicester’s leading man James Maddison is doubtful for the weekend. With a busy set of fixtures coming up, I would suggest transferring him out for the likes of Luis Diaz or Bukayo Saka.
Salah Captaincy
Last week I included my personal analysis post on why Salah should be your captain for Gameweek 3. So I was happy to see him score on the weekend and give my team some much-needed points!
I detail below why I believe Salah should again be your go-to for captaincy as they return to Anfield and come up against the promoted Bournemouth side, which has well-known defensive frailties. So let’s hope for two in a row for yours truly.
FPLSalah Predicted Points
Fantasy Football Hub and FPLSalah have used their mathematical models to deliver a ‘Predicted Points’ chart to give you a good idea of who’s expected to run riot on the weekend and get on the scoresheet.
I’m happy that Salah is a clear 1st for predicted points (partly due to Midfielders scoring an extra point per goal compared to Forwards in FPL) and backs up my analysis regarding captaincy.
Trent Alexander-Arnold also appears quite high on the list so I wouldn’t be rushing to transfer him out after a few poor weeks. Keep the faith.
