Best of Fantasy Premier League Twitter Gameweek 5

ATTENTION! MID-WEEK GAMEWEEK ALERT!

Didn’t mean to be dramatic, but better to be safe than sorry. The deadline for Gameweek 5 is Tuesday, 30th August, at 6pm UK time. That means you don’t have long to pull yourself together and get back on the horse off the back of Gameweek 4. Forget that Salah didn’t record a single goal or assist in a 9-goal drubbing; we only look forward now. Sunshine and blue skies.

Chelsea, Liverpool & Manchester City bounced back on the weekend to steady the ship on their respective seasons. Will it be a sign of things to come?

Let’s check in with some of our expert friends in the world of Twitter to see their thoughts on the road ahead.

Manchester City Dominance

If you missed the weekend Manchester City v Crystal Palace match, the main takeaway was that Haaland is the real deal. It took the Norwegian only 4 matches to notch up his first hat trick for Manchester City and deliver managers a delicious 17-point haul. He was strong, quick, decisive and looks like a must-have at the moment. Even if he starts on the bench at times, expect him to score in the time he has on the field.

FPL CORF has highlighted how potent Manchester City have been in front of goal this season.

Most Creative Players

One of the most helpful ways to predict who is likely to score points in the coming gameweeks is to see who is taking the most shots and creating the most chances for their teammates, as the goals and assists that come from these actions are what we are looking for.

Fantasypaedia has served up the top chance creators so far in the premier league. I felt it was important to highlight this for anyone considering transferring out Salah in a fit of rage after he failed to score any points in a 9-0 win. Hold on to the Egyptian King. Also, consider some of the other players mentioned in this list. They have all been electric so far.

Arsenal Defence

For those who have followed the Premier League in recent years, it has been painfully obvious that Arsenal were not a great defensive team. So it would be fair to say that labelling them as ‘good’ would have been a stretch. But fear no more. Arsenal have made the right signings and look like a castle defence system with their new look lineup.

BigManBakar has highlighted that only Manchester City have a better defence this season so far. The best part is that Arsenal defenders such as White and Saliba are quite cheap! But they won’t be for long. Don’t miss out.

Injury News

Our resident injury expert Ben Dinnery appears once again in our Twitter roundup for FPL managers to provide weekly updates on Who’s In and Who’s Out. We see below that Ben has reported that Newcastle’s talisman winger Allan Saint-Maximin is a doubt for the weekend with a hamstring injury after scoring a stunning volley over the weekend. He also mentions other Newcastle First XI players who are doubts for their trip to Anfield on Wednesday night. This is even more reason to hold on to your Liverpool players that you may have been thinking of trading out for a shiny new player in your FPL team. Trust in Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp.

Upcoming Fixtures

It’s that time of the year, the most wonderful time. Premier League football on the weekends, Champions League/Europa League on weeknights. More football than you can poke a stick at.

But wait… how will your fantasy team cope with this?

It is essential to keep an eye on who starts week in, week out and who is sitting on the bench talking to their squadmates more often than not. The most important factor to scoring FPL points is getting on the pitch!

Our familiar face, FPL Goat, reminds us that those top team players that we have been relying on the first 4 gameweeks may start to be less reliable soon.
